La Richarde [5 mins away] is a great place to buy leather goods – a “must visit” for the ladies!

Hautpaul – Medieval village that led to the creation of Mazamet town.

Lastours - An unusual arrangement of four castle towers dating from the 13th Century. They controlled the principal access routes into the Cabardès and the Montagne Noire regions.

Cordes-sur-CielCordes-sur-Ciel - Cordes was the first and most important 'bastide', built to welcome refugees after the Cathar wars. The town was encircled by two fortification lines closed by powerful fortified gates. It sits like an eagle's nest on a hilltop above the Cérou valley. In days gone by many celebrities, such as Jean-Paul Sartre and Albert Camus, used the town as a
favorite hideaway.

BeziersBeziers – on the coast with great beaches – a great day out and a lovely hours drive.
